One image, one page, in list order
JPG to PDF creates a pdf-lib document and embeds each file. JPEG and PNG take the direct embed path. Anything else that the picker accepts — the filter allows png, jpeg, webp, gif, and bmp — is painted to a canvas and embedded as PNG when the direct path throws. Page size follows the image. You are not filling a form or writing a text layer. Alphabetical order from a camera that restarted at lunch will put the signature on page 2. Number the files after you have looked at them.
No upload. No stored gallery. HTTPS is the page load. A very large set is limited by how many bitmaps the tab can hold at once.

Photo sets that have to travel as one file
A letter someone photographed
Reshoot blur and thumbs first. Number the keepers. Build the PDF. Page 37 should be the signature, not the thumb. Then make an email-sized compressed sibling if you must.
Receipts
One photo per page is the right shape. Do not collage them into a grid and then wonder why a clerk cannot read a total.
A book gutter
Dark inner margins are in the pixels. This page will not lift them. A contrast filter that “polishes” the scan can turn tsp into top. Reshoot the bad page.
Print the embedded master, not the compressed email copy. Paper makes a second JPEG generation worse. And do not call the result PDF/A. This path does not write that standard.
Name, then build, then check the last page
- Rename images in reading order. Drop them. Confirm the list, not the camera counter.
- Create the PDF.
- Open the last page and one middle page at 100%.
- Keep the numbered images until a paper check of the densest page passes. Rebuilding page 14 from
14.jpgis a minute. Rebuilding it from a crushed PDF is a reshoot.

The list is the binding
The page order is the order of the files in the list, not the time they were taken and not the order a chat app displayed them. If you add a batch and the signature lands in the middle, remove the rows and add the numbered files again. Re-sorting inside the PDF is Organize, after this file exists.
WebP, GIF, and BMP take the canvas path and are embedded as PNG, so a long GIF becomes one still and the PDF can grow. JPEG and PNG use the direct embed. A sideways photo is a pixel problem or a later rotate. This page does not read an EXIF orientation you can rely on. Rebuild from the corrected image rather than rotating a PDF you have already compressed for email.
Frequently asked questions
Which files embed without a second encode?
JPEG goes through embedJpg. PNG goes through embedPng. WebP, GIF, and BMP are drawn to a canvas and embedded as PNG, so those types are re-encoded. A GIF becomes one still frame.
Is each image a page?
Yes. List order is page order. Rename files 01, 02, 03 before you add them if the camera counter restarted and alphabetical order is not the story.
Will EXIF rotation be honored?
Not reliably. If a photo lands sideways, rotate it and rebuild, or rotate the PDF page afterwards. Do not argue with the tag.
Why is the PDF huge?
You embedded the camera pixels. A 37-page set of phone photos can be tens of megabytes. Compress a copy for email and keep this file as the master. Compression will turn the pages into a second generation of JPEGs.
Can I add selectable text?
Not here. The page is the image. If you need words as text, OCR after the PDF exists, and treat the transcript as separate from the pictures.
Are the photos uploaded?
No. The PDF is built in the tab. There is no server album. The download is the record. A synced Downloads folder is still a copy you chose by saving there.
